St. Paul College

Transportation & Applied Technology Lab Renovations
Description:
Phase 1 of this project includes remodeling of a protion of the vocational trades shop areas, classrooms and office space on the ground floor and new construction for a connecting link between the east and west tower buildings. The remodeling prioritizes life safety, air quality and deferred maintenance improvements. Exiting improvements include a new exit corridor and a new exit hall connection on the ground floor. The renovation includes space-use modifications, better lighting and improved ventilation with new air handling equipment and exhaust systems for trades shop and classrooms.
The new connecting link will greatly improve circulation and traffic flow between the two existing building towers on the second, third and fourth floors. These towers are currently connected only on the first floor. The link will also provide office, meeting and student interaction spaces.
Phase 2 of this project includes the remodeling of the remaining vocational trades shop areas on the ground floor for space-use modifications, life safety, air quality and deferred maintenance improvements. Some new construction is projected to address current space deficit conditions, including a small expansion of the truck mechanics shop, a new east entry vestibule and new mechanical equipment penthouses to serve the shop areas.
